Strickland Emphatic in Refusing Run for Vice President

Wed May 14, 2008 at 06:12:39 AM PDT

Well we can all strike Strickland OFF the list for a possible Vice Presidential candidate.  I thought that Strickland would be a great choice for he would help bridge the Hillary and Obama camps for the Fall and he would help to win Ohio for the Fall.

Well he has now refused the VP offer whether it is Hillary or Obama.

This is what the article says what Strickland has said about being anybody's Vice President this year:

"Gov. Ted Strickland says his answer about running for vice president in the fall would be no different if Barack Obama asked instead of Hillary Clinton.

That would be 'no.'

Strickland has been saying for weeks that if Clinton wins the Democratic presidential nomination, he would reject any request to be her running mate.

When asked yesterday about speculation in the national media that if Obama wins the nomination, he'd have to consider Strickland as a running mate, the governor reached into his pocket for a slip of paper that read:

'If drafted, he will not run; if nominated, he will not accept; if elected, he will not serve,' a version of the famous quote from Ohio Civil War Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman.

'I think this is a concoction of the national media,' Strickland said."

Now that Strickland may be off the List, any thoughts on others?

My personal first choice is either Kaine or Webb.
